I am excited to be part of the WCC family as the Practical Nursing Coordinator. I started my nursing journey by earning my practical nursing certificate back in 2002. I worked as an LPN while continuing my education and I received my ASN from Columbia College in 2010 and my BSN from Central Methodist University in 2012. My nursing background consists of Phlebotomy/Lab, Long term Care, Clinics, Acute Care, Pediatrics, Outpatient, Postpartum, and Nursery. My passion is to train the next generation of nurses and to also work within the community to educate and inform about different nursing professions and how their dream of becoming a nurse can come true!

My husband was in the military and has since retired, so I have worked in several different places throughout the course of his military career. Eventually, he served his last duty station here and this is where we stayed, as I have family in this area. I earned my BSN from the University of Central Missouri to start my nursing career in 1999. Since that time, I have worked in medical/surgical nursing, orthopedics, neuro, and ICU. I worked in ICU for many years. Then, once the worst of Covid had passed and we were all trying to get to a new normal, I opted to take my nursing career on a different path and become a nursing instructor. I look forward to educating and empowering our future nurses.

I am excited about starting the year in the practical nursing program. I graduated with my ASN from Southwest Baptist University in December of 2005 and finished my BSN in May of 2023 from Chamberlain University. I have been nursing since 2006. I have worked in the hospital on med/surg floors for 15+ years and then worked in long-term care and hospice. I am looking forward to preparing new nurses for the healthcare world, in whichever area they choose to focus on.
