Mrs. Susan Williamson

Hello There!  My name is Susan Williamson and I've been a Health Science Nurse Educator at Waynesville Career Center since 2019.  I graduated from Lincoln University as a Registered Nurse and I completed my Career and Technical Educator's Certification through the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg.  I have spent more than 30 years in Health Care as a Long-Term Care Administrator, Med-Surg Hospital Nurse, Public School Nurse, and Director of Nursing for Public Health and Home Health. Being a caregiver for others is a calling from the heart and my goal is to give my students a good foundation as they begin their journey into Health Care.  It's truly a privilege for me to be able to share my knowledge and experiences with our next generation of CNA's, Phlebotomy Technicians, Nurses, Therapists, Surgical Techs, Respiratory Techs, Doctors or any other medical calling my students might have.  In my course, students will learn to become career ready through blended learning via hands-on, fast-paced course work, both in the classroom and skills lab setting, as well as outside of our Career Center with our industry partners.  Students will have the opportunity to recieve at least four career ready certifications to include Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), BLS/First Aide Certified through the American Heart Association, Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT), and Teen Mental Health First Aid.

I'm a proud wife of a United States Army Veteran and I have three sons and four grandchildren.  I'm so inspired by my students who are our next generation of care givers.  I love being a nurse and I love using my education and knowledge to usher in our next generation of care givers.
