Employment Certification
Due to the No Child Left Behind Act, all teachers in the Waynesville R-VI School District are required to hold Missouri certification in their teaching area. While a current Missouri teaching certificate is not required to become an applicant, employment is contingent upon you receiving a Missouri certification. You must provide our office with the status of your Missouri certificate.
Out-of-state applicants need to immediately request an application for Missouri teacher certification from DESE. Salary and Other Job Information
The Waynesville R-VI School District employs approximately 475 certificated staff and 300 classified staff. Positions are posted for a minimum of five (5) business days and remain posted until filled (unless otherwise specified). AmeriCorps/VISTA Summer Opportunities
The VSA Experience - A summer of service, a lifetime of value. Spend your summer serving in the community as a VISTA Summer Associate alongside leaders of non-profit organizations and the Waynesville R-VI School District- all while gaining valuable job experience. Earn approximately $1350/month while serving and receive an education award of $1,374.60 upon successful completion of an 8- or 10-week service period. Alternatively, a cash stipend can be selected. Waynesville AmeriCorps tutors serve during the school year at the Waynesville R-VI School District during the day and/or after school. Members serve alongside teachers to provide mathematics and reading tutoring to PreK-8 students who are struggling academically. After school Waynesville AmeriCorps members facilitate the K-5 Club TIGER after school program and assist with the 6-8 WIN after school program. Members are responsible for directing club activities and/or providing homework assistance to students. In return for their service, AmeriCorps members receive a monthly living allowance ranging from approximately $441.66 up to $1980.50 and an end-of-service education award of up to $6,495 equivalent to a full year of service with a maximum of the equivalency of 2 full years of service. Full-time and part-time options are available; health care coverage provided for full-time members. Positions will be available for the 2023-2024 school year.
Waynesville VISTA Members
Waynesville VISTA members commit to serve full-time for 12 months at the Waynesville R-VI School District or a nonprofit community agency, working behind the scenes to develop, execute and sustain community and school-based programs. VISTA members develop and enhance programs that support at-risk youth, families, and individuals in our community. In return for their service, members receive a $1,350 monthly living allowance and $6,495 end-of-service education award, health care, one year of noncompetitive status for a federal government job, and other benefits.
