    Dr. Brian Henry became Superintendent of the Waynesville R-VI School District on July 1, 2014. A native of the Kansas City, Mo., area, Henry was an education major at Missouri Valley College before earning a master’s degree in education from Baker University and a doctor of education from the University of Kansas in 2004. His outstanding career in education includes teaching at Winnetonka, serving as an assistant principal, principal, deputy superintendent, and eventually superintendent. He has published articles in the field of education and worked on several educational initiatives throughout his career. Dr. Henry is the Missouri State Commissioner for the Military Interstate Children’s Compact Commission, a national commission including all 50 states dedicated to easing transitional issues in schools for children of service members, and is involved in several other projects supporting the children and families of military communities. Dr. Henry has been heavily involved in the communities he has served including Chairman of the Sustainable Ozarks Partnership, a regional organization in central Missouri dedicated to the growth of the United States Army’s Fort Leonard Wood and the surrounding area. Henry and his wife, Dr. Kristina Henry, have four daughters Morgan, Madison, Mollie and Mary.
