Safety Is Top Priority

Safety is the top priority in the Waynesville R-VI School District. The district has implemented multiple security programs, including: 

- school resource officers

- a buzzer entry system at each school. To gain entrance, you will need to press the intercom button, identify yourself and show your ID. 

- upgraded security cameras throughout the district, both inside and outside the buildings

- a welcoming environment that promotes inclusion and diversity

- anti-bullying lessons at all grade levels

- emergency response training for staff and students, including ALICE intruder training

- building positive relationships with students

- DARE, anti-drug program

- social, emotional learning program

- Leader in Me programming, which helps instill leadership and life skills in students, helps create a high-trust school culture and helps promote academic achievement
