  • Waynesville Sixth Grade Center School Supply List for 2022-23

  • Due to a nationwide shortage of bus drivers and increased fuel prices, the Waynesville R-VI School District will be making changes to its bus routes for the 2022-23 School Year, including the following:

    • Reducing the number of bus routes. The district will operate 40A and 40B routes for a total of 80 bus routes.
    • There will be fewer stops, which means some students may have to walk farther to and from their homes.
    • To the extent possible, buses will average a maximum of two students per seat

By making these adjustments, the district will be able to transport about 3,500 students to and from school daily.

"We apologize for these changes, but unfortunately we are faced simultaneously with the dual challenges of driver shortages and increased fuel costs,” said Dr. Billy Cobb, executive director of operational services. “We know that change can be difficult, but we want to continue offering transportation services to as many students as possible and these changes are necessary to make that goal a reality.”

The district’s goal is to announced the new bus routes on the district’s website in early to mid-August.

The district continues to train and hire bus drivers. Anyone interested in becoming a bus driver may call 573-842-2199 for more information.

  • Welcome to the Waynesville Sixth Grade Center! Our student-centered community of learners embraces diversity and innovation. We live by Leader in Me (LIM) and Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support (PBIS). We are so happy that you are here!

Dear Families of the Waynesville Sixth Grade Center,

Mrs JustusMy name is Ruth Ann Justus, I am honored to be starting my fifth year at Waynesville Sixth Grade Center and the first year as Principal. I have been with Waynesville School District for 22 years. I first started out as a paraprofessional in the Autism room at Pick Elementary. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught 1st and 2nd grades, both on and off post. The past 4 years, I have been at WSGC, 3 years as an Intern Administrator, and last year as the Assistant Principal.

I am excited to be working with sixth-grade students as they begin their journey into middle school. It is my belief that this age is a very pivotal one and one where great strides can be made in empowering all students to reach their highest potential. I am a strong proponent of teamwork and teaching the “whole” child.

I have been married to my husband, Jay, for 16 years. We have two sons, Colton and Dian.  Colton graduated from Waynesville in May of 2021. He is working with a local Heating and Cooling company. Dian will be a 9th grader at Waynesville High School. When I am not at school, I enjoy watching Dian play sports, spending time with my family, and serving alongside my husband in his real estate business.

Again, I am very excited to be serving the community at the Sixth Grade Center. Please feel free to contact me anytime at rjustus@waynesville.k12.mo.us.
