Selective Service Registration and the FAFSA
Males (any person assigned the sex of male at birth) aged 18-25 are required to register with the Selective Service System (SSS) in order to be eligible for Federal Student Aid (FSA).
The Department of Education conducts an automated system match with the Selective Service to confirm a male student's registration.
Male Students age 18-25 who have not registered with the SSS can do so when they complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or they can register on the Selective Service System website.
For more information, please visit the Selective Service System Website at https://www.sss.gov/.
