Tina Rowden, Coordinator of Grant Management

This is a very exciting year for the Community Resources Office (CRO) and Waynesville R-VI School District as we continue the work of forming meaningful partnerships with our community with the goal of connecting our students with our community. I am excited to begin my work with this office and to help grow and develop these relationships even further. The CRO office also oversees and manages a number of grants that help us to provide a multitude of services to our school and community.

The CRO office continues its work at managing grants that help us coordinate and place AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps VISTA members in service within our district and community. These members work to help fight poverty throughout our community. Their service aids students within our school district as well as many of our community partner organizations. We have several community partners and look forward to working with them to provide assistance in helping them create sustainable programs that help our community prosper.

We are proud to continue with Project EDGE, a $1,250,000.00 STEM grant awarded to the Waynesville School District in 2018 by DoDEA. This grant provides STEM related programs for our students that will prepare them for future demands that they will need to meet both academically and in their future careers. Student programs involve activities such as coding, robotics, and a STEM-Infused multi-age program along with other methods of encouraging the development and use of critical thinking skills.
