• Parents,

I am your child’s reading interventionist. During this time of school closure, I wanted to provide you with some resources to continue your child’s reading progress. During reading intervention your child works on reading, word work and has small group reading instruction. We have provided leveled readers for each student in your child's classroom. Please take time to read these with your child, take turns reading it to them and have them read it to you. Below are links to Heggerty lessons, our FlipGrid videos, and helpful links for phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary and comprehension. Please click on the virtual learning link for lessons for Kindergarten to 5th Grade intervention. I have linked daily lessons, videos, and books for students. We have set up a flipgrid account where students can see videos of us and record their short responses and even record themselves reading. This will be a fun way for them to practice their reading skills from home. Please continue to read the books that were sent home in their reading packets. I also want to support your student. This can be with the lessons I posted or with other work they need to complete for their teacher. I am available to meet online with them to help with their reading and would love to be able to set up a scheduled time. Please reach out to me so we can continue making reading progress during this time.

My main goal is to create a caring and comfortable environment that will instill students with a love of learning and reading. I look forward to helping your child on their journey towards motivation and success.
