President of the Board of Education

I grew up as an Army Dependent and traveled extensively during my school years. When my father was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, our family liked the area and decided to purchase land and become part of this growing community. I graduated from Waynesville High School in 1967. I attended Missouri State University where I acquired a B.S. in Education, a Master's in Secondary Administration and a Specialist Degree. I ended my educational studies by earning my Ph. D. in Administration. I am presently an adjunct professor for Drury University.

I have 32 years of experience in the field of education. I hold a K-12 lifetime teaching certificate and a lifetime secondary administration certificate from Missouri. I have taught at the elementary, middle school and high school levels. While teaching, I was an assistant football coach, head wrestling and head tennis coach. I have administrative experience as an assistant high school principal and a head middle school principal. During my last 16 years in education, I served as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. I also was responsible for all Federal Programs and Professional Development.

My wife is a retired elementary teacher with a Master's in Education. We have two daughters, both teachers. My son is also attending college and working as a substitute teacher.
