My name is Debbie Ogden and I will be our child's teacher this school year. I was born and raised on the island of Kauai in the state of Hawaii. I attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield and Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville. I have also attended the University of Hawaii  on Oahu.

This will be my twenty- eight year of teaching in the public school system. I have taught for thirteen years in the state of Hawaii, ten years in Plato, Missouri and this will be my fifth year here at Freedom Elementary, St Robert, Missouri. I have also taught two years in California at a private school.  My approach to learning is through the use of two teaching styles - A Whole Language approach and the use of Basal. Whole Language is a philosophy - a belief that children learn best through natural, meaningful, integrated experiences that are relevant to their lives. Basal are the use of textbooks in each subject matter.
