My name is Heather Allen and this is my 4th  year teaching 2nd grade in the Waynesville district.  I am very excited to be teaching 2nd grade again, and I look forward to getting to know each child in my class as well as each of you.  I know students like hearing things about me so I'm going to include a little information about myself on this web page!  

I am originally from the Chicago area but moved to Waynesville 7 years ago with my husband George.  He is from the area and actually went to East as a little boy!  We have one fur baby named Harry Potter and we welcomed a daughter, Mary Grace to our family on April 1st of this year, we couldn't be happier!!

I love to read and listen to music.  When I have time I can really get lost in a good book.  I hope to instill this love of reading in all of my students!  Some of my favorite children's books include; The Giving Tree, Where the Wild Things Are, Where the Sidewalk Ends, and books by Dr. Seuss.  

One of my most favorite things to do is spend time with my family and friends!

    Welcome to my second grade website.  The purpose of this website is to provide information to parents and students.  Parents will find information on curriculum, procedures, school policy, and stay informed on topics that affect their child through our classroom newsletters.  
     The student page is a fun, safe environment where students can discover many varied topics of interest.  Students will find helpful links for Reading, Language Arts, Spelling, Math, Science, and Social Studies.  Students will also be able to use kid-approved search engines to assist in classroom projects.
