Certification Due to the No Child Left Behind Act, all teachers in the Waynesville R-VI School District are required to hold Missouri certification in their teaching area. While a current Missouri teaching certificate is not required to become an applicant, employment is contingent upon your receiving Missouri certification. You must provide our office with the status of your Missouri certificate. Out-of-state applicants need to immediately request an application for Missouri teacher certification from DESE. Employment Opportunities The Waynesville R-VI School District employs approximately 475 certificated staff and 300 classified staff. Positions are posted for a minimum of five (5) business days and remain posted until filled (unless otherwise specified). Substitute Opportunities For those interested in substituting (teacher, paraprofessional, custodian, food service, secretary, etc.) on an on-call, as needed basis may pick up a substitute packet from the Office of Personnel Services located in the administration building at 200 Fleetwood Drive in Waynesville.
AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps VISTA Opportunities AmeriCorps members help to address the educational needs of at-risk students by providing one-on-one or small group tutoring. AmeriCorps VISTA members work as part of a team to design programs and systems to support at-risk students and their families through strengthening volunteer programs, increasing parental and community involvement, promoting student service learning, and establishing student support systems. Members work in areas of public relations, marketing, research, grant writing, program design, website design, and a variety of other areas. Part-time and full-time positions available. Eligible members receive a living allowance, $4,725 education award to use for tuition or student loan payment, student loan forbearance, health insurance, child care assistance, comprehensive training and professional development opportunities, valuable teaching or work experience, and great references. Adult and Community Education Teaching Opportunities The Waynesville Technical Academy (WTA) is seeking instructors for the Adult and Community Education program.
