Celebrating Americorps Week
This year’s theme, AmeriCorps Works, communicates the value and effectiveness of AmeriCorps while providing flexibility to be used in many different contexts. It provides an overarching framework to communicate AmeriCorps triple bottom line return on investment -- for the recipients of service, the people who serve, and the larger community and nation
Inclement Weather Make-Up Schedule
As per the 2011-2012 School Calendar, the two days lost to inclement weather (February 13 and 14) will be added to the end of the school year making May 24, 2012, the last day of school. To view the revised school calendar, please click here.
Waynesville R-VI, NCLB, and Accreditation
As federally mandated under No Child Left Behind (NCLB), a letter has been sent to parents explaining that although the district's MAP scores indicate continued overall improvement the district did not meet federally required Annual Yearly Progress.
For many years, the Waynesville R-VI School District has been Accredited with Distinction for Improved Performance by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. For parents who move from state to state, this can be especially confusing as under NCLB, individual states determine which standards and measure they will utilize to meet NCLB requirements. Missouri has very high standards and we are pleased to be recognized for our improvement efforts by the state's Department of Education. We are also pleased to be fully accredited as a district by the North Central Accreditation, Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI).
