My name is Kristin Dye. I have worked in the Waynesville School District since 2002. I've worked as a paraprofessional, a special education teacher, and a special education process coordinator. I am originally from a suburb of Kansas City and attended the University of Kansas, where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. I attended Missouri State University for my Master's Degree in Special Education, as well as my certifications as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired and Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist. This year, in addition to working in my classroom at East, I will also travel throughout the district providing specialized instruction to students with visual impairments.
My husband, Jon, is a graduate of WHS and teaches Culinary Arts at Waynesville Career Center. Our son is a second grader at East. We also have a beautiful daughter. We have 2 dogs and love going for walks, watching and playing sports, traveling, and spending time together as a family.
I love teaching and am looking forward to a wonderful, productive, and fun-filled year! I value communication with parents and welcome phone calls and emails any time!
