Waynesville R-VI School Districts, located in Pulaski County (south central Missouri), serves the communities of Waynesville, St. Robert, and Fort Leonard Wood. With a population of nearly 6000 students in grades K - 12, Waynesville R-VI is the largest school district in Pulaski County. These students are housed in 10 different schools throughout the district, approximately half of which are located on Fort Leonard Wood military installation; these schools include: Thayer Elementary, Partridge Elementary, Wood Elementary and Williams Elementary and Early Childhood Center. Located off post are East Elementary, Freedom Elementary, the 6th Grade Center, Waynesville Middle School and Waynesville High School (including the 9th Grade Center).

Opened in 2012, the Waynesville Sixth Grade Center is home to all 6th graders in the Waynesville School District. The 6th Grade Center provides a nice transition for students moving from grade school into the middle school. The Waynesville Middle School, located adjacent to the Waynesville 6th Grade Center, holds grades 7 and 8. The Waynesville Middle School offers its students many opportunities for sports, academic, and personal growth.

The Waynesville High School holds grades 9 - 12. An extension devoted to the 9th grade students opened in the 2013-2014 school year, with the mission to aid students transitioning from middle school to high school. Waynesville High School has a variety of clubs, sports, activities and other opportunities for nearly any student's interests.

The Waynesville Career Center, often called the WCC, is home to students from different districts throughout Pulaski County, as well as the districts from surrounding counties.  It offers students learning opportunities in many different focus areas, such as culinary arts, graphic design, television production, masonry, A/C repair, metal work, auto collision or service technology, commercial design, business management, JROTC, and many more. The WCC also offers Continuing and Adult Education classes. Adult students are welcome to attend WCC day or evening programs such as: Practical Nursing, Cosmetology, Sheriff’s Academy, EMT/Paramedic and a variety of short-term evening classes. On-line courses are also available through Ed2Go.
